A G.O has been issued by the tamilnadu government notifying the acquisition for SEZ promoted by GMR.  In the G.O notification it is stated that about 100 staff of the revenue department has been appointed for facilitating the buying of lands by GMR from the farmers and also clearly specified that 70% of the land should be directly procured by way of negotiation and balance area of Poromboke land is being transferred directly. 

It is also clearly stated that only dry lands are being procured. The Company has started puirchasing lands.

Due to objection from public the government has altered the location plans and moved the project facing Rayakottah road starting from karappalli to rayakottah - Bairamangalam road (5 th km from Hosur NH7 and 7th K.M from Maruthi Nagar and its layouts. ).

Rayakottah road will be the next hottest destination in Hosur. Maruthi Green fields has a rearside entry which is very close to this location. It is just 2 km from this location.

The GMR Group today entered into an MOU with Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) for the development of a Multi Product Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Krishnagiri District, Tamil Nadu.  The signing ceremony was done in the presence of the Hon. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri M. Karunanidhi at the Secretariat in Chennai
